Johnny Rico gets exiled to Mars to whip a battalion of recruits who don't believe the war is real. The bugs don't care what they believe. SYNOPSIS
Johnny Rico commands a training facility on Mars, where he's been assigned to whip raw recruits into shape. The catch: these soldiers are Martians who view the ongoing insect war as distant and irrelevant to their isolated world. They're undisciplined, unmotivated, and frankly, a nightmare to work with. Meanwhile, Mars itself has grown complacent, questioning whether they should even remain part of the war effort when their own planet sits safely removed from the fighting. Rico's already thin patience gets tested when the bugs launch a devastating surprise attack on Mars. The planet's apathy becomes its downfall. Caught between managing the chaos of invasion and training soldiers who were never ready for combat, Rico must adapt his methods fast. But something darker lurks beneath the surface.
