Lin Tian wakes at the bottom of a cliff, cheated out of his family fortune by his fiancée Xiao Yun and Mo Sen, eldest son of the Mo family, who pushed him over the edge. Beneath the cliff he stumbles on a mysterious black iron sword. Survival alone won't satisfy him: he vows revenge on both families and to reclaim what was stolen. Too weak to strike yet, he joins Jiuyang Wufu to grow stronger first. But danger lurks closer than expected, since one of the Wufu's elders is Mo Sen's uncle. Keeping a low profile, Lin Tian trains hard in martial arts, refines talisman formations and slips out of the city to practice, battling red-faced ghosts and giant centipedes and seizing the Blood Soul Flower. As his strength rises quickly, the Xiao and Mo families answer with ambushes and assassination attempts in a fantasy action adventure where the strong are respected.
