A sixth-grader with actual social anxiety solving real crimes with a misfit group of boys from cram school. The mysteries matter because the stakes are proportional, not world-ending, which means you can actually breathe and think alongside the characters. The show trusts kids to care about something smaller and harder: friendship, reputation, figuring out who you are when nobody's watching. By episode three you stop waiting for the plot twist and start waiting to see if Aya survives lunch period without embarrassing herself.

Sixth grader Aya Tachibana worries constantly about her friends, her family, her grades and plenty more. One day she joins Detective Team KZ alongside four very distinctive boys she met at cram school: the showy leader Kazuomi Wakatake, the enigmatic people expert Takakazu Kuroki, the cool math whiz Kazunori Uesugi, and the kind Kazuhiko Kozuka, who shines at social matters and science. Aya earns her spot as the team's language expert. The five take on present-day cases, and although they squabble now and then, they combine their individual talents to crack each one.
