Tenchi vanishes into the mountains and comes back a stranger. The entire cast has to confront the possibility that the person they've been chasing isn't the person they knew. It's a movie that trades the harem's comfortable chaos for the weight of actually losing someone, even when they're standing right in front of you.

Tenchi wanders off into the mountains alone after yet another quarrel among his friends and disappears through a portal. Months pass without a trace of him, but Ayeka and Ryoko refuse to give up, and at last they find him in Tokyo, looking several years older. He seems to be living in a parallel world alongside a mysterious girl named Haruna, and he does not remember either of them. The two must learn what Haruna wants with Tenchi, and how she is tied to his grandfather Yosho, before he is lost for good. The film is a science fiction romance with a dramatic bent.
