Tempest finally has downtime, and watching Rimuru convince an army of demons to fight in a sumo tournament is peak slice-of-life comedy. The first two episodes are pure fanservice nonsense that goes nowhere, then the final three episodes remember the show has actual characters and nail every joke. This is comfort food for people who just want to hang out with these characters doing stupid things.

Rimuru realizes that Tempest has nothing to offer in the way of recreation, so he proposes sumo wrestling as something everyone can enjoy together. His friends jump at the idea, and Tempest holds its first sumo tournament, with a grand prize on the line. Benimaru and the men go all out, Shuna and Shion enter the fray as well, and eventually Rimuru joins in too. In another episode, Shuna and Shion are squabbling over Rimuru's soft slime body again. He considers giving each of them a double of himself, then drops the plan and decides to make a cushion shaped like his slime form instead. Asking around Tempest for materials leads him to a special sand on a lakeshore in the forest, where a monster lies in wait, and Milim comes flying down after hearing about his picnic. The final three episodes find Rimuru teaching at the Freedom Academy in the Kingdom of Ingrassia. During the school's yearly outdoor training event, students protect their teachers on a trip to a nearby town. Rimuru goes with Class A while his own Class S guards the young Tiss-sensei, until thieves ambush them. Across its five episodes, the OVA blends action, comedy and fantasy with some ecchi elements.
