This is a show that murders every isekai trope by actually living with the consequences. Kazuma picks the useless goddess as his reward, arrives broke, and spends ten episodes watching four dysfunctional misfits fail upward through the simplest quests because nobody here is competent. The comedy works because it refuses to pretend any of this matters, it's absurdist, vicious, and genuinely funny in ways that most light novel adaptations give up trying for.

Kazuma, a shut-in who loves games, dies in the most pathetic way possible, and when a goddess offers him a second chance in a fantasy world, he jumps at it. There's just one catch: allowed to bring a single thing along, he picks the goddess Aqua herself, and she turns out to be more of a liability than an asset. Arriving penniless, with thoroughly ordinary skills and the worst possible companion, Kazuma discovers that defeating the Demon King isn't actually the priority. Survival is. Before any grand quest can begin, he needs food, clothing and shelter, which means grinding through manual labor just to cover living costs. What unfolds is a comedy of misfortune: Kazuma only wants a peaceful life, but Aqua keeps causing one problem after another, and the Demon King's army has started paying attention to him.
