A kid and a turnip, then a dog, then a cat, then a rooster, each one arriving exactly when the story needs them, no flourish, no twist. The whole thing moves like a pulled thread, patient, inevitable, hypnotic. You watch something this deliberately small and realize most children's media is screaming for your attention. This just asks you to sit with it.

An animated film based on a popular Chinese children's song. A boy tries to pull a turnip out of the ground, but he cannot manage it on his own. To get the turnip up, he needs the help of other animals, who lend their strength to the effort.
