THE FULLMOON TRADITION: INDRA is a pilot film made for a planned television series by Mamoru Oshii that was cancelled before it went ahead. Oshii handled the writing, storyboards and direction himself, and Akemi Takada created the character designs. The concept later took on a second life in print, when Hisayuki Toriumi turned it into a novel published in two volumes. The film blends fantasy and science fiction.
