This is the show that takes a TV finale you already thought was perfect and screams that it wasn't loud enough. Eight OVA episodes with movie money behind them, so every transformation gets held on screen until your fists clench: GaoFighGar's debut, Mic Sounders the 13th switching discs, Volfogg holding the line, and eventually Genesic GaoGaiGar showing up to make everything before it look like a warm-up. Renais Cardiff Shishioh is the reason the drama lands. She's hunting the BioNet cyborgs who cut her humanity out of her, and she can't just courage-shout her way past that. Then the Sol Masters turn up, Palparepa makes the BioNet look like a rounding error, and Guy has to burn himself down to a hammer swing again. "Hikari ni nare" is not a catchphrase here, it's a bill someone has to pay. Watch the TV series first, then let this one wreck you.

Guy Shishio and the Gutsy Galaxy Guard have already defeated the Zonder Empire and the 31 Primevals, but a new danger soon reaches Earth. With the newly built GaoFighGar, GGG joins forces with Chasseur, its French counterpart, against the villainous organization BioNet. Chasseur's members include Renais Cardiff Shishioh, a former BioNet cyborg set on destroying the people who stripped away her humanity. In the middle of that fight, GGG bases around the globe come under sudden attack, and the Q-Parts and the original Gao Machines are taken by Mamoru Amami, who has been abducted and cloned by a greater enemy called the Eleven Kings of Sol. Expelled from Earth by the United Nations, GGG heads to the distant edges of the galaxy to face the Eleven Kings of Sol and rescue Mamoru. The eight-episode OVA blends mecha action, science fiction and drama.
