Lavie's not trying to be the hero, she's trying to erase her grandfather's name from her own. The Northern War expands what the games only hinted at, giving you a whole front of the Erebonian conflict that feels essential to the world, not supplemental. This is a show that trusts you've already played Cold Steel and rewards that knowledge with the story the games couldn't fit.

Lavie joins the Northern Jaegers with a singular purpose: protect her homeland from the Erebonian Empire and prove she's nothing like her grandfather Vlad, a former hero who betrayed North Ambria. Her home is the poorest region in Zemuria, still struggling after a disaster that turned people and buildings into salt, and its old state army now works as the continent's largest mercenary group. Only half a year into her service, Lavie has earned her comrades' respect, though her dedication to the mission often leads her to break the rules. When she is ordered to form a platoon with Martin, Iseria and Talion and slip into Erebonia to learn about the mysterious Imperial Hero, a new threat to her country, she begins to see that the continent's politics run deeper than she thought. Expect a fantasy action adventure built around a spy mission behind enemy lines.
