A girl nobody wanted and a monster nobody feared find each other in the garbage and decide to become someone. The show doesn't need spectacle to break you, it's content to watch Ivy and Sora rebuild something worth living for, one small kindness at a time. By the end you realize the trash was never the point; the point was always two creatures learning they mattered to someone.

Ivy carries a curse from birth: she has no Star, the rank that grants Tamers their abilities. Seen as an ill omen, she is rejected even by her parents and driven from her village, and she survives alone by living off the land and salvaging what others throw away. Her lonely existence changes when she befriends Sora, a frail slime, in the forest, and successfully tames it. Together, they form an unlikely partnership. Ivy discovers that there is more to her than being starless, and a strange bond develops between them. What begins as two misfits simply trying to survive becomes something richer, as Ivy's care brings out the best in both of them.
