Fushi has spent two seasons learning that immortality means watching everyone die, and Season 2 is him finally breaking under that weight. The show doesn't pretend he can be saved by a new arc or a redemption quest, it just puts him in front of people who refuse to let him disappear, and watches what happens when connection becomes harder than solitude. Bon's story especially lands because it asks what it means to matter to someone who has already seen a thousand someones turn to dust.

Fushi, an immortal being who has seen too much death, retreats to an island to fend off the Nokkers that hunt him. But the creatures refuse to follow. Instead, they target the settlements beyond his reach, hoping to draw him back into the world. When a group called the Guardians, led by Hisame, a descendant of the late warrior Hayase, finds him, Fushi must decide whether to stay isolated or rejoin the conflict. Reluctantly stepping back into the fight, Fushi travels with the Guardians to the site of the Nokkers' latest attack. There he meets valuable allies, some new and some familiar. Yet each battle only brings more loss, and Fushi must find the inner strength to face the sorrow that awaits him.
