A film about blind children learning to play soccer together. The obstacle is not inspirational material waiting to be filmed. It's the actual thing these kids had to overcome, frame by frame, to exist on a field alongside sighted players. What hits is that the movie trusts you to understand why that matters without turning it into a speech. By the end, a goal scored by a blind child is not a metaphor for triumph. At the Chiba Prefectural School for the Blind, a group of visually impaired children come together to form a soccer team, which they name Pegasus. The 1995 sports film centers on this team and the students who make it up.
