This OVA stops the plot cold to let you watch a guy actually fail at asking someone out, then spend the next twenty minutes sweating through increasingly ridiculous attempts to fix it. The comedy lives in watching him sabotage himself while the girl he likes watches the whole disaster unfold. It's the show understanding that romance isn't about winning, it's about how badly you can mess up trying.
