A horse girl from nowhere discovers she can run faster than anyone has a right to. The racing sequences animate like nothing else on TV, pure speed rendered so cleanly you feel the dirt under hooves. Oguri Cap wins a lot, which strips away the false tension of "will she make it," leaving only what matters: watching her love this sport more than breathing, and everyone around her becoming better because she exists.
Oguri Cap is a girl with ash-gray hair living in the poor rural town of Kasamatsu, where no one around her suspects how gifted she is. Bad knees kept her in pain through much of her childhood, but she pushed past them and found freedom in running. Unlike the other horse girls at Kasamatsu, she has no interest in wins or fame and simply loves to run. Jou Kitahara, a rookie trainer who never expected to find talent in such a quiet place, notices her wild, unorthodox stride. A school race puts her against Fujimasa March, a disciplined regional star who races for pride, and the meeting shakes March's confidence. For the first time, Oguri starts to want victory, a wish that could carry her from her hometown toward the national stage. Adapted from a sports manga, this 13-episode drama is a Cinderella story set in the Umamusume world.
