Versailles no Bara: Moetsukita Bara no Shouzou is a single special from 1980, a drama and romance made as an original ending for Versailles no Bara. Scheduling conflicts had cut the broadcast of the series short after episode 23 in several regions, so this episode was produced to bring the story to a close. It shares some story beats with the actual storyline but departs from it considerably. After its broadcast it was never shown again and never received a home video release.
