This one runs on the specific humiliation of a film crew that peaked once and has been coasting on it ever since. Nanaoka, Nanamori and the rest of the Expedition Team bagged Kiina, the legendary beast, and then produced absolutely nothing, which is exactly why Nanazon Prime Video has them first on the layoff list the second it buys out poor broke TV Na Na Na. Every episode is a few minutes of people scrambling to justify their own paychecks by chasing another monster, and the joke is never the monster, it's the budget meeting behind it. The Nanazon gag alone tells you how mean this show is willing to be about who actually owns television now. Short, cheap, deeply cynical, and funnier than it has any right to be about corporate restructuring.

When the major streaming service Nanazon Prime Video buys out TV Na Na Na, a desperately poor television network, the new bosses start cutting staff on a huge scale. First in line is the Expedition Team, who once captured the legendary beast Kiina on film but have made no hit programs since. To keep their jobs, director Nanaoka, cameraman Nanamori and assistant director Nanayama launch an ambitious new show: finding the hidden gold of the Banakawa family, who were enormously rich in the Edo period, and putting it on air. Big networks with deep pockets have already spent fortunes on the search and come up empty, and even living members of the family cannot locate the cave where the gold lies. So the crew heads underground to explore in search of it, in a short-format series that mixes comedy with adventure.
