The scrappy crew at TV Nanana faces their biggest challenge yet. With young viewers drifting away from traditional TV, advertisers cutting back and little enthusiasm for the station's own programs, the cash-strapped network is in its worst shape ever. To grab high ratings and keep the station alive, expedition director Nanaoka, cameraman Nanamori and assistant director Nanayama set out to capture footage of the legendary kraken in the dangerous, supernatural waters called the Banana Triangle. They hitch a ride on an illegal squid boat and head to sea, where sharks, giant whales and pirates await. After washing up on a remote island, they meet a steadily stranger collection of characters. Can this ragtag team pull off the impossible, or will their latest gamble end in spectacular failure? The result is a short-format comedy adventure in which financial desperation drives increasingly ridiculous schemes to stay on air.
