A children's song about tofu shouldn't work this hard to make you feel understood. The animation moves like the song breathes, treating a simple ingredient with the kind of gentle attention most shows reserve for life-or-death stakes. What you're actually watching is five minutes of permission to stop and notice something small, something ordinary, something that feeds you.

Watashi wa "Tofu" Desu is a single-episode music video made for a song performed by Kazuo Kumakura together with the NHK Tokyo Children's Choir. The piece was featured on Minna no Uta, a program broadcast by NHK.
