Pan Gaofeng, a young rocket engineer born in the 1980s, joins the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology after finishing graduate school and becomes part of the team developing the Long March 5, his country's most powerful launch vehicle. Working with senior engineers and colleagues, he pushes through repeated difficulties and outside mockery and doubt, and he recovers from a failed launch as the team works toward success. The story is a drama about China's space program and the people who build its rockets.
