The animation doesn't just serve the story, it IS the story. Watching Chu Feng pull power from that sealed beast is pure visual catharsis, every strike animated with weight and speed that makes you feel the impact. He's arrogant enough to be entertaining, cocky enough to earn getting humbled, and the battles move fast enough that you never notice the character work got left behind.

One night, a strange event that no one can explain strikes the nine provinces. Five years pass. Chu Feng, an ordinary outer disciple of the Azure Dragon school, awakens one of the nine mysterious lightning beasts, and he finds that an egg has been sealed inside his own body. From that point, the story follows him along his road of cultivation in an action fantasy adventure.
