A visual interpretation of Soutasei Riron's "Miss Parallel World" unfolds across a single, carefully crafted piece. Director Wataru Uekusa made the music video in 2012 as his graduate work at Tokyo University of the Arts. A young girl wanders through a strange town of calm fields and buildings while assorted monsters trail behind her. Her daydreams take shape on a monitor screen or in the forms of those monsters, giving a playful, humorous look at her private inner world as upbeat music plays. The short also traces her growing up from elementary school through middle and high school, with more and more on her mind as she gets older. Light colors and finely drawn lines give it a distinctive look.
