A girl walks through a flooded town. Rain and puddles are the only language this film speaks, and it says more than most features with two hours of dialogue. The animation doesn't show you a story, it becomes one, frame by frame, until you realize you've been crying and can't explain why.

In a small, forgotten town where the rain never lets up, a robot crosses paths by chance with a curious little girl. Their meeting stirs old memories and leads to an unexpected reunion with a girl the robot has always remembered. Rain Town is a short drama with science fiction elements, made by Hiroyasu Ishida as his graduation project at Kyoto Seika University, where he worked on it with fellow student Shougo Yoshida.
