Lao Wang, a man in middle age, works in the security office of a college set in a large college town, where his life passes calmly. On a foggy winter day, a first-year student who has clashed with his roommate is brought to the security office by his counselor. In a room together, the older man and the young student each reflect on their own lives, while something unforeseen is about to occur. Around them, the town waits quietly for the next day, as it always does. The film mixes comedy and drama.
