Those opening horns hit and you are instantly back in front of a CRT with homework you are not doing. This exists for one reason: Yu Yu Hakusho's music did too much heavy lifting to be left buried under episode credits, so here it is, front and center, an hour of Matsuko Mawatari welded to a feeling you have not been able to shake since the nineties. "Hohoemi no Bakudan" is the loudest, most shameless burst of optimism ever attached to a show about a dead delinquent, and "Homework ga Owaranai" still lands like a friend walking you home. Wrapped around it is a last look at Yusuke, Kuwabara, Kurama and Hiei, which is the only reason a clip special earns anyone's time. It is not a story. It is a victory lap, and you will sing along alone in your room like a lunatic.

This 1995 one-episode special serves as an epilogue to Yu Yu Hakusho, carrying the story a step past the main series.
