Hanabi is twelve years old and caught between childhood and something else entirely. A sixth-grader, she is no longer a small child but not yet an adult either. One day she accidentally sees her homeroom teacher kissing, and she also frets that her body might start to change before her friends' bodies do. Alongside these small, private worries comes her first experience of love. This romance OVA treats the innocent concerns of a twelve-year-old girl with care as she moves through that in-between age.
