Anime Like Gakuen Alice
Mikan walks into Alice Academy expecting a prison and finds a found family instead, except the show never lets you forget she's a kid who abandoned everything on pure instinct. SYNOPSIS
Mikan's best friend Hotaru suddenly transfers to Alice Academy, a prestigious Tokyo school for students with supernatural abilities called "Alices." Worried by rumors that the academy keeps its students like prisoners, Mikan impulsively chases after her friend and somehow gets admitted herself, despite having no special powers whatsoever. What Mikan discovers is far more complex than the dark rumors suggested. Alice Academy is genuinely extraordinary, filled with students who can manipulate elements, read minds, or bend reality in ways large and small. The school itself becomes a character, a place where wonder and danger exist in constant tension. Mikan's lack of an Alice ability makes her an outsider in this world of gifted teenagers, yet her ordinary determination and genuine kindness become her greatest strengths. As Mikan settles into academy life, she forms friendships that matter, uncovers mysteries about why she was truly accepted, and finds herself caught between protecting those she cares about and uncovering secrets the school would rather keep hidden. Her ordinary heart proves to be anything but ordinary.
