Han Li wins by thinking three steps ahead while everyone else is swinging swords. The 3D animation renders every calculated move with a clarity that makes his survival feel earned, not lucky, across seasons that never lose momentum or quality. A commoner in a world stacked against him doesn't need a hidden bloodline or sudden power spike, he needs patience, and this show proves that's enough.

Han Li is a poor, ordinary boy from a village who happens to be taken into a minor sect in Jiang Hu as an unofficial disciple. A commoner with only middling aptitude, he has to find a secure place for himself within the sect while walking the perilous road of cultivation and staying out of sight of anyone who might want to hurt him. Against heavy odds, this unremarkable mortal comes into conflict with fiendish demons and old celestial beings as he seeks his own route to immortality. The ONA runs 17 episodes and blends action, adventure, fantasy and romance.
