In the year 3029, Earth is unified under the Federation, its borders gone and its technology surging ahead. Then an enormous bronze sword falls from the heavens and pierces the sun. Its tattered scabbard breaks apart in the collision, and shards spread across the universe, many of them landing on Earth. With them comes Spirit Qi, a limitless new energy that is dense in some places and sparse in others. As the Federation and other factions collect shards, they uncover knowledge of cultivation and pill refinement, and older energy sources quickly become obsolete. In this world of spiritual energy, Wang Baole, a cheerful, chubby boy, penetrates an illusion set by the examiners during the entrance test of a renowned academy and earns a special admission spot. From there he carves out his own route upward, cultivating, battling monsters and making plenty of friends along the way in a run of comic adventures.
