You're watching samurai honor get rebuilt in a world that already destroyed it once. Seven broken mechanized warriors take a job protecting farmers because they've got nothing left to lose, and somewhere in that collision between obsolete code and survival necessity, the show finds what makes a samurai actually matter. The mecha never overshadows the philosophy, it's just the scars these people carry into a story about choosing to be useful when the world has already written you off.

On a future world scarred by mechanized warfare, a small farming village faces a hard choice. Bandits with augmented bodies ravage the countryside, stealing crops and people alike, leaving Kanna Village on the brink of starvation. Three villagers, including the water priestess Kirara, her younger sister Komachi and the anxious Rikichi, set out with nothing but rice to offer, searching for samurai willing to fight. Through danger and some luck, they gather seven warriors of differing skills and experience for a battle against the bandits and the merchants who hold sway over them. Loosely based on Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, the show blends action, mecha and science fiction.
