Two episodes, no scoreboard, and that is exactly the point. After the Fall season put Seidou through the wringer and the third years handed off the jersey, this is the breather the broadcast never gave you: Sawamura loud in the dorms, Kuramochi tormenting whoever is closest, Miyuki grinning at all of it like he engineered it. It was bundled with volumes 4 and 5 of Act II, so it sits in that strange gap between graduation and the new roster, when the rotation is an open question and Furuya and Eijun are still measuring each other in innings. If you sat through 126 episodes of bunt signs, mound visits and pitch counts, you earned the goofy stuff. You watch it for the same reason you rewatch dugout scenes: those idiots became your team somewhere around the second Yakushi game.

Ace of Diamond: Second Season OVA is a two-episode epilogue to the Diamond no Ace series, released in 2016 alongside the fourth and fifth manga volumes of Act II. It follows on from the second TV season, which saw Eijun Sawamura, Furuya and the rest of the Seidou High baseball team head into the Fall season with a new captain and fresh players. The OVA pairs sports action with comedy.
