Jess is an astronaut who battles to topple the dictator ruling a federation of Earth and other planets. Federal authorities capture him and ship him off to a planet used as a penal colony. There he meets an old woman who reveals to him what life and love truly mean. The film draws on the Japanese Noh drama Kurozuka as a motif, and it adapts a short manga from The Lion Books into a science fiction story.
