SYNOPSIS
A NASA capsule surfaces in the Mongolian wasteland, buried beneath millennia of sand. Carbon dating reveals the impossible: it crashed here sixty-five million years ago. On Mars, something far more sinister unfolds. A massive black structure of alien origin consumes one of the planet's moons in an expanding vortex, its purpose unknown and its hunger insatiable. Earth dispatches the ship Davide to gather answers. Instead, the vessel and its crew find themselves pulled into the cosmic phenomenon, their instruments failing as reality warps around them. Lila Mochizuki and her companions wake to a nightmare: stranded in deep space, cut off from any hope of rescue, with an ancient and growing threat bearing down on them. Time collapses into meaninglessness. The distinction between past and present dissolves. What they encounter in the void challenges everything humanity believes about its place in the universe and forces them to confront a truth that rewrites history itself.
