A girl with no talent walks into the most competitive idol academy in Japan and discovers she's not fighting to be the best, she's fighting to figure out who she actually is. Ichigo Hoshimiya is an ordinary middle school girl until her best friend Aoi Kiriya invites her to apply to Starlight Academy, a prestigious private school for idols in training with demanding entrance requirements. Aoi dreams of living up to Mizuki Kanzaki, the biggest idol in the world. Once enrolled, Ichigo meets all kinds of rivals and learns what being an idol really takes, using her Aikatsu Cards to take on audition after audition. Along the way come laughs, friendships and heartbreaks, plus playful adventures like chopping down Christmas trees, running obstacle courses and rock climbing, in a music series about two girls hoping to brighten other people's lives.
