Ryunosuke's oblivious pining becomes the entire comedy engine, he's chasing a girl who doesn't remember being anything but human, and the show mines genuine laughs from how much he has no idea what he's actually dealing with. The '98 OVA energy means everything moves at a comfortable pace, letting the character moments breathe instead of sprinting toward spectacle. This is Nuku Nuku for people who liked the franchise but wanted it quieter, slower, less concerned with whether you're keeping up.

In the near future, Nuku Nuku turns up and moves in with the Natsume family. She has lost her memory, so she takes on the identity of a lovely girl named Atsuko Higuchi. Gentle, beautiful and a superb cook, she keeps fourteen-year-old Ryunosuke smiling. Soon after she arrives, though, strange events start hitting Maneki City: experimental machines go haywire, fighter jets roar past at low altitude, and parts of the city are wrecked. At every scene, witnesses report seeing a mysterious girl. The OVA mixes action, comedy, romance and sci-fi, with some ecchi humor.
