A guy who hates cats gets cursed to understand them and has to grant a hundred cat wishes to avoid turning into one. The setup is absurd enough to work, the comedy lands because the cats are genuinely annoying and hilarious in equal measure, and every wish he grants somehow brings him closer to the girl who actually likes cats. By the end you're rooting for him not because the curse is serious, but because watching him fumble through cat logic while trying to impress Kaede is exactly the kind of stupid-charming that carries a whole season.

Junpei Kousaka hates cats. As a second-year high school student with an allergy to them, he finds his crush on Kaede Mizuno, a girl who loves cats, especially inconvenient. His world implodes when a careless kick sends an empty can into a statue of the local cat guardian deity. Suddenly Junpei can understand what cats say, including his family's grumpy pet, Nyamusasu. Granting one hundred wishes for cats becomes his only way to avoid turning into a cat himself. He must also keep the curse secret from everyone around him.
