Anime Like Omamori Himari
Himari is a cat demon who shows up to protect you, and the show makes that stupid premise genuinely charming, the action lands harder than it has any right to, the comedy actually breathes, and the character moments feel earned instead of obligatory. This is 2010 ecchi done right: fanservice that doesn't apologize, but also doesn't cannibalize the actual story. It's not trying to be something it's not, which is exactly why it works better than the shows around it that couldn't decide what they wanted.
SYNOPSIS
Yuuto Amakawa thought his life was ordinary until a protective charm his grandfather gave him shatters, releasing Himari, a cat demon bound to guard him. She's beautiful, fierce, and absolutely will not leave his side, no matter how awkward that makes things. The real problem surfaces quickly: Yuuto carries demon slayer blood, which puts him squarely in the crosshairs of vengeful spirits and Ayakashi looking for payback. Himari can fight, but one guardian cat demon might not be enough against the supernatural threats closing in. What starts as comedy and romance quickly shifts into genuine danger as supernatural enemies converge on Yuuto's ordinary life. Water spirits show up uninvited, rival demons complicate everything, and the body count of bizarre encounters keeps climbing. Himari remains his most loyal ally, though their relationship constantly walks the line between protective partnership and something harder to define. Action sequences balance out the constant comedic chaos and romantic tension as Yuuto figures out what it means to be caught between the human and demon worlds, whether he wants to be or not.
