A zombie high school boy gets trapped as a magical girl's unwilling replacement, spending twelve episodes fighting monsters in a frilly pink outfit while genuinely trying to make it work. The show refuses to pick a lane between sincere supernatural action and absurd comedy, so it does both at full volume, which means you're laughing at a legitimately effective fight scene one moment and wincing at the ecchi nonsense the next. The real trick is that Ayumu's deadpan misery at his entire situation, killed, enslaved, cross-dressing, and somehow the only thing standing between the world and oblivion, is actually the heart of it. Most shows would lean into either the fanservice or the story; this one commits to both and somehow makes the contradiction work.

Ayumu wakes up dead. A high school student killed during a string of murders, he is brought back as a zombie by a necromancer girl named Eu and begins serving as her guard. Things get messier when Haruna, a boisterous magical girl, tries to wipe his memory of her and he absorbs her magic instead. Stripped of her powers, she orders Ayumu to take over her job of hunting Megalo, monsters that prey on people in the human world. Soon his daily life is full of magically equipped girls and vampire ninjas. Expect slapstick comedy, supernatural action and plenty of fanservice.
