The comedy hits because it knows exactly which anime clichés are worth destroying. Every joke lands from a place of genuine affection for the dumb tropes it's tearing apart, not contempt. You're not watching a plot unfold, you're watching a machine designed to make you laugh at the same joke three different ways before you see it coming.

Akihisa Yoshii has hit rock bottom. His test scores land him in Class F, the school's dumping ground for academic failures, complete with broken desks and threadbare mats. He is not alone there: Mizuki Himeji, one of the year's brightest students, ended up in the same class because of a fever on exam day, and his friend Yuuji Sakamoto is stuck there too. Fumizuki Academy has an experimental system that lets students summon fantasy creatures, and each creature's power matches its owner's test scores. That means Class F can actually fight back. Fed up with their shabby classroom, Akihisa and his classmates rally to challenge the higher-ranked classes in all-out summon battles, hoping to win their better facilities and climb to the top of the school. The show pairs broad comedy about a class full of self-proclaimed idiots with a touch of romance.
