Anime Like Witch Craft Works
Kagari rescues Honoka in full witch regalia and the show immediately commits to the bit: this isn't a slow burn romance hiding behind fantasy combat, it's a girl in love doing her job while he stumbles through it completely lost. The animation moves like it has something to prove, treating every spell cast and broom flight like the sequence matters. Honoka's uselessness isn't a bug the show apologizes for, it's the entire point, and somehow that makes watching him survive another day genuinely funny.
SYNOPSIS
Honoka is just another face in the crowd at school, minding his business and trying to avoid trouble. His biggest problem is proximity to Ayaka, the impossibly gorgeous girl who sits next to him in class. Her devoted fanclub makes sure he keeps his distance, regularly pummeling him for even existing near her. Then one day, a collapsing piece of the school building nearly kills him. Ayaka swoops in to save him, and that's when things get weird. She's dressed as a witch, complete with broomstick and mystical energy crackling around her hands. She reveals that protecting him is her actual job, something she's been doing in secret this whole time. Now that her cover is blown, Ayaka doesn't plan to hide anymore. Honoka has questions. Lots of them. Why does he need protecting? What's actually after him? And why does the most beautiful girl in school care so much about his survival? Answers come wrapped in action, magic, and a partnership neither of them expected.
