Elk walks into a world where nothing belongs to the same era, then the show refuses to pick a lane and commits to all of them at once. Bounty hunter plot, apocalypse mystery, chimera horror, beast-master companionship, technology-versus-magic standoff, it's either going to feel like bloat or exactly what you've been looking for. The gamble is real. If you want cohesion, this isn't it. If you want a show willing to be weird and sincere about every single thing it touches, Arc the Lad is there waiting.

Elk works as a bounty hunter in a strange future world where old yet advanced technology exists alongside primitive attitudes, wild beasts and magic. Behind the scenes, a sinister conspiracy is able to create powerful monsters called chimera, some of which can pass as human. Before long, Elk rescues a young girl who commands beasts and also gains some dangerous enemies. The result is an action adventure that mixes fantasy, science fiction and horror.
