Chirico Cuvie, a pilot of armored troopers, receives orders to transfer to Planet Odon and is assigned to the Red Shoulder division. He and the other new recruits are thrown into what is called a simulated battle to measure their skills, but the exercise is a real fight meant to cull anyone not good enough.
