After the Punisher gets in the way of a classified operation, S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Avenger Black Widow takes him into custody. Director Nick Fury then assigns the two to a joint mission against Leviathan, a worldwide terrorist group that intends to auction stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. technology to whoever offers the most. The vigilante and the spy have to cooperate to keep that technology out of dangerous hands, with the future of the world and of the Avengers at stake. The film is an action-driven sci-fi adventure built around an uneasy team-up.
