Valentine's Day panic is the entire show, and it knows exactly how funny that is. Azuki-chan has one shot to make chocolate good enough to matter, one chance before her crush walks into a room where someone else is already waiting for him. The movie doesn't pretend this stuff is small, it treats a homemade gift like the actual stake it feels like when you're young and terrified.

Valentine's Day is coming, and Azuki-chan and her friend Kaoru are busy thinking about the chocolate they want to give the boys they like, Yunosuke and Ken. Youko is hosting a party on the day itself. The girls turn down her invitation, only to learn that the boys they care about are going, and even Azuki-chan's brother plans to attend. Before the party, Yunosuke gives Azuki-chan a chance to hand him her chocolate. Now she has to make it in time and hope he accepts her feelings, in a comedic slice-of-life romance film.
