A potato farmer from Earth walks into a galaxy-wide tournament and somehow becomes the moral center of a show that refuses to let competition mean anything except "the person who tried hardest today." The series treats athletic struggle like it matters cosmically, which sounds corny until you watch a lunar refugee and a kangaroo companion fight like their lives depend on winning a race. This is what sports anime looks like when it stops caring about rank and starts caring about whether you showed up as yourself.

Kanata Akehoshi is an outgoing potato farmer from Earth. As a child she found a crashed spaceship and a weakened girl who handed her two wristbands and asked her to enter the Daiundoukai and win. Humanity has settled the solar system, and this huge athletic tournament crowns one woman the Cosmo Beauty, a title with queenlike status. After years of training, Kanata wins the qualifier to represent Earth and heads to the University Satellite, where the candidates prepare together. Her fellow competitors include a lunar refugee and her kangaroo companion, the daughter of an arms-dealing CEO, and a mysterious loner. Their rivalry slowly turns into friendship as Kanata helps them get along. Getting closer to the title also brings her closer to finding the girl who set her on this path, and to a hidden mystery behind the tournament. The series mixes sports action with science-fiction adventure.
