Shinokawa Shioriko, the shop's painfully shy owner, struggles with customers but draws on a vast knowledge of literature and a deep love of books to solve the puzzles surrounding the rare volumes brought to her. When Daisuke, a young man who has barely read anything because of a phobia, arrives with a signed complete set of Natsume Soseki's works inherited from his grandmother, a new mystery lands on her counter.
