Eve doesn't care if you think girls in golf anime should be cute, and the show doesn't either. The absurdity never stops the actual drama from landing, so you get legitimate character moments wrapped in deadpan jokes about underground golf syndicates and impossible shot physics. This is what yuri representation looks like when it's treated as a plot, not a subplot, and the romance between Eve and Aoi matters because the show spent the time to make you believe in both of them first.

Eve is a golf genius living in Nafrece, a European country, where she earns her keep by betting on matches and beating whoever takes her on. Nicknamed the Rainbow Bullet, she plays underground golf with just three clubs and has never lost. Then she plays an honest round against Aoi Amawashi, a prodigy and the daughter of a major company's president, who has come to Nafrece for a tournament. Aoi, called the Innocent Tyrant, loves golf for its own sake and flattens opponents while smiling. After their match, the two are drawn to each other and agree to meet again on the course. Eve's bold, risky approach clashes with Aoi's polished, steady game as the pair influence and change one another in this sports drama.
