A third-grader stumbling into a ninja mansion staffed by color-coded problem-solvers who mistake her for royalty is the exact premise this movie leans into without irony. The ninjas don't fight evil, they fix broken things, tend fires, manage water, build what's needed. It's a children's story that knows what it is: a place where competence is comforting, where a kid gets to live in a house where someone is always solving something, and where the world works the way you wish it would.

When third-grader Himeno moves into a huge mansion in the countryside, she discovers it is a ninja house. Three ninjas live there: Akamaki looks after the fires, Aomaki takes care of the water, and Kiiromaki handles the carpentry. They mistake Himeno for a princess and start fixing her problems, each using a special skill of their own. Their powers go further than that, though. Aomaki and Kiiromaki can join together to become Midorimaki, Akamaki and Aomaki become Murasakimaki, and Akamaki and Kiiromaki become Tōmaki. Their new life together has barely begun when a large tornado heads straight for the mansion, putting Himeno and her family in danger. The fantasy film was made as one of the Anime Tamago 2016 projects for training young animators.
