Watching someone stumble into the doujinshi community and actually stay because the people there are real is the whole thing. Comic Party Revolution gets that the appeal isn't the comics themselves, it's the earnest energy of people making something they care about with their friends. You watch Kazuki go from outsider to believer not because the show lectures you about passion, but because his friends are too busy having fun creating to notice he's already in.

Kazuki, a college student, wanders into the world of doujinshi, where fans rather than professionals draw and sell their own comics. He is hesitant at first, but the girls he meets are serious about their craft, and little by little he starts making doujinshi himself. The four-episode comedy OVA draws on the Dreamcast and PC game Comic Party and uses a different setup from the TV series: Kazuki, Taishi and Mizuki are college students here rather than high schoolers. The story also opens after Kazuki already knows the rest of the cast.
