Four girls living in a dorm, each bombing at manga in different ways, learning that the thing keeping them stuck is thinking they have to figure it out alone. The show gets what it means to be bad at something you love, and how the person next to you struggling in a totally different direction somehow makes it bearable. Comedy that lands because it comes from real creative panic, not from trying too hard.

Kaoruko Moeta, a 15-year-old high schooler who draws manga as Chaos, is going nowhere fast. After her work lands dead last in a reader survey, her editor suggests she move into a dormitory for female manga artists. There she shares life with three other creators: Koyume Koizuka, a shoujo artist who, like Kaoruko, has yet to be serialized; Tsubasa Katsuki, who draws shounen manga; and Ruki Irokawa, who makes romance manga. The four quickly become friends, and living alongside them gives Kaoruko fresh inspiration. The girls back one another as each works to improve her craft. The result is a gentle, funny slice-of-life comedy about the everyday routines of young artists chasing a career in manga, with Kaoruko hoping to finally win a serialization of her own.
